This project is a mixed-use redevelopment of the former Hamilton Air Base, which closed in 1975. The site includes 900 new homes, one million square feet of commercial space, and 74 acres of parks, open space, and wetlands. The Martin Group acted as the land developer selling entitled parcels to major builders and users including Marriott Corp. for a new Courtyard Hotel, several homebuilders including Taylor Woodrow, Greystone, The O'brien Group and Shea Homes as well as American Stores and Barker Pacific. The project's ultimate cost will exceed $200 million and will be completed over the next two years. Hamilton lies approximately four miles southeast of the City of Novato central business district. The project is bounded on the east by San Pablo Bay and on the west by U.S. Highway 101.
