Denise Pinkston has over 30 years of experience in real estate including acquisitions, asset and construction management, marketing, leasing, planning/entitlements, transit and green building program development, and public affairs. Denise was named one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times in 2012, 2013, 2016 and was named to their Forever Influential Honor Roll in 2014.
Denise directed Current Planning, Code Enforcement, Housing, and Redevelopment as the Marin County Planning Services Coordinator. She has also served as a planning commissioner, chamber of commerce board member, and instructor at San Francisco State University. Denise has taught at the Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business at Mills College.
Denise has been involved in infill housing and alternative transportation innovations in the Bay Area including:
Founding and serving as Founding Member, Chief Executive and Board Chair for Mountain View’s first privately funded shared shuttle MVGO www.MVgo.org. Serving as Board Chair of the Emeryville TMA operator of the EmeryGoRound shuttle;
Chairing the Bay Area Council Housing and Sustainable Development Committee where she wrote and lobbied SB1069 to expand second units as an affordable housing source in California. Chair and Vice Chair of the Berkeley Zoning Adjustments Board, a member of the SPUR Housing Committee; and
Technical Committee ABAG/MTC Committee to House the Bay Area (CASA)
Jobs and Housing Coalition Legacy Award 2018 with personal recognition from State of California Assembly and Senate, Oakland City Council, Alameda County Board of Supervisors for leadership in Bay Area and California.
Denise attended the University of California at Berkeley where she earned a B.A. in History, and a Masters in City and Regional Planning.
